August Sunset over Kvaløya, Tromsø

Moose (my hubby) is teaching me how to use my camera. I am shooting straight north to Kvaløya, an island just off Tromsø, on my Nikon D50. For this shot I had to lay on my belly in the dirt. No Photoshopping – this pic is straight from the camera. So… what do you think?

The White Tree of Gjesvær

On the way back I realised I was looking at a bald village, (and I’m not talking about the men) – when you look at the land there was not a tree in sight!… Even though it reminds me of the White Tree of Gondor, it certainly makes no valid comment on Gjestvær – the place may be a tree-less island but it is surrounded by living waters.
