This winter I’ve been noticing the trees have been getting shorter.  I used to be able to walk under the trees by our house with no problems.  There branches were well above my head.  Now they are nearly clothes-lining me.  I asked Moose what was wrong with the trees.  I thought maybe in Norway they shrink in the cold to conserve energy or the branches sag down because of all the weight of the snow.  Moose said ‘Well, you are walking on at least a metre of snow’.  Doh!  It never occurred to me that it wasn’t the trees getting shorter but the ground getting higher.  Sometimes living in Norway makes you so silly.
