I had never bought flowers for myself until I came to Norway. I always got them for Mother’s Day, birthdays and Valentine’s Day but I never thought much about flowers. Outside had all the living flowers I needed. Since being in Norway, I have found myself buying flowers quite often, just because. Winter time is when I buy the most. I find that it is important to bring living things into the house. I watch them change day by day, their movement, colours and shape. It’s like having a little bit of Spring in Winter. It is short lived though. Even the potted flowers have their day. But they can chase the Winter blues away which makes them even more special to have around.
