It is 2am. I’m thinking I should be in bed but the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. The house down the road has smoke coming from its chimney and a guy walks around his car and looks at me wondering why I am standing in the middle of the road taking pictures. The air is cool, the atmosphere blue and the road is still wet from melting snow. The Midnight Sun is almost here.

There is an opposition in everything. At the darkest time of the year, we celebrate Christmas. And at the exact opposite end, when the midnight sun is at its highest, we celebrate Midsummer.

Autumn is Fårikål season in Norway.
Even though the males are called bulls and the females cows, the muskoxen are more closely related to sheep than cattle. Make no mistake, though – this is not your average cuddly ba-ba-blacksheep! A grown animal can be 2,5 m long and weigh up to 400 kgs, and their long curved horns mean business.
It’s always fun to take kids to the beach.

It is amazing. When I lived in Trondheim, we got a bit of that – and it definitely took getting used to! But was an experience I won’t forget.
I would love to experience this. My grandfather used to tell me about this time of year.
I wonder how you and Norwegians adjust to the nights of summer time? I mean it is so bright when you’re sleeping.

During the midnight sun it gets even brighter. For me it is very hard to sleep but Moose is used to it.
