Påskeris
Påskeris is the Easter equivalent to a Christmas tree – a traditional Norwegian decoration. Made of birch twigs and set into a vase, påskeris is normally put up on Palm Sunday. The birch twigs are a substitute for palms branches, in remembrance of Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey, however, most of the religious significance of this decoration has been lost. Ribbons and flowers originally dressed the birch, but nowadays you can find painted eggs, sewn chickens and wooden ornaments. If Easter is late in the year then there is a good chance to have buds for added decoration.

The sun never goes down during this season but the mountains to the East are so high that the sun still has to raise above them in the morning hours and an artificial dawn-effect wakes the city.
This is very cool! I love it!
