From the west, a wall of stone Saints and Prophets will confront you. All sides of the Cathedral are very textured and deserve a long walk around. You’ll see gargoyles and gothic arches, thick wooden doors with rusty floral art and Anglo-Norman/Romanesque bits and pieces ‘stuck on’ that intensifies your ground view. However, the outside of Nidaros Cathedral is even more intriguing when you know the history.

So cute, and that snow looks rather luxurious and fluffy as far as snow goes! Might get my own chance to make snow angels next week if the British weather reports are to be believed. Thanks for sharing some Norwegian snow with us.

The snow has been pretty thin up until last week – just in time for the Sami reindeer racing through the city centre!
Several years ago our family took a trip to Norway in late January…an unforgettable experience for all 23 of us, but our 6 year old grandaughter, born and raised in sunny Florida asked, “Grandma, can I make sand angels in the snow?” Fortunately she had plenty of chances starting in Oslo, then Bergen and all the way up to Nordkap. For these children the experience of snow, northern lights and the concept of very short daylight hours as well as dogsledding near Tromso created special memories.
I love snow angels! How fun that Moose and you can join in with the children.
