Um... just so you know, this is a series - maybe you should start at post one and not the end post that was meant just for interest.

These posts were topics at my university course in Tromsø specifically on the subject on how Old Norse has influenced English. If the information here is relevant to get a degree on the subject then they are definitely relevant to this post series.&lt;/em&gt;</description>

Therefore, English developed with Germanic vowels sounds from the Old Norse before it went through the GVS.  (Old Norse, which is the &#039;Viking Language&#039; is from the early Germanic language group that developed into the Norwegian of today.)&lt;/em&gt;</description>
