Jobs for Immigrants at Oslo University
I found an interesting statement on an Oslo University job ad today:
The University of Oslo has a goal of recruiting more women in academic positions.
Women are encouraged to apply. The University of Oslo also has a goal of recruiting more immigrants to Norway in academic positions. Immigrants are encouraged to apply.
This was in English, plain to see for all immigrants (especially immigrant women). So if you are looking to live and work in Norway and have an academic background this is your lucky day! However, I wouldn’t trust the ads ‘resources’:

I’m all for supporting people in third world countries who are disadvantaged – but the odd thing to me is that most of the scholarships for people from third world countries are for those who already have a Bachelor degree (with at least Bs) and fluent in English. Is a person really disadvantaged having that amount of education and opportunity that they need exclusive scholarships to keep studying?

That’s awesome! I will definitely look for it when I am done with my PhD in 2 years from now… its near future to me! Hope they will still advertise positions.

Well, from what I’ve seen – universities are one of the bigger (visual) employers of international workers in Norway. I reckon you could even look out for jobs now and apply so you can secure one for when you want it.
